New European Packaging Regulations

-The new packaging regulations of the European Union have come into effect: The EU 2025/40 "Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulations" officially came into effect on February 11, 2025. The new regulations abolish the Packaging and Packaging Waste Directive (94/62/EC), establish rules for the entire lifecycle of packaging, promote effective operation of the internal market, reduce the negative impact of packaging and packaging waste on the environment and human health, and promote the transition to a circular economy.
-Mandatory implementation of EU EPR new regulations: The EU EPR new regulations require producers to be responsible for the environmental impact of their products throughout their entire lifecycle. Amazon requires sellers selling in the European Union to complete the registration of battery laws in Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Poland, the Netherlands, and Belgium before August 18, 2025, and provide Amazon with registration numbers, otherwise they will face the risk of being banned.
-The new regulations of the German packaging law are about to come into effect: starting from 2025, the proportion of recycled PET beverage bottles in Germany will increase to 25%, and it will reach 30% by 2030. At the same time, the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Law requires that recyclable packaging accounts for more than 90%, prohibits food packaging containing PFAS, and the packaging volume must not exceed 50% of the goods.
